Please read these Terms carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the Service Scout app or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Service Scout ("Service Scout," "we," "us," or "our") operates a lead generation marketplace that connects homeowners and property managers ("Customers") with home service professionals ("Service Pros" or "Pros"). Service Scout is not a contractor, employer, or party to any agreement between Customers and Pros. We provide a platform to facilitate introductions only.
Service Scout is incorporated and operates in the United States. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of law principles.

You must create an account to post service requests or receive leads. You agree to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or provide false information.
You may browse service categories and platform information without creating an account ("Guest Mode"). Guest users may not post service requests, contact pros, or access any personalized features. Guest access is provided as-is with no guarantees.
Customers may submit service requests describing work they need done. By submitting a request, you:
We do not guarantee that your request will be matched with a Pro, or that any Pro will contact you or complete the work.
Service Scout does not employ, certify, license, or endorse any Service Pro. You are solely responsible for:
Service Scout is not responsible for the quality, safety, timeliness, legality, or completion of any work performed by a Pro.
The Service is free for Customers. We do not charge Customers for submitting requests, receiving Pro contacts, or any other feature.
Pro accounts are subject to review and approval by Service Scout. We reserve the right to approve or reject any Pro application at our sole discretion. Approval does not constitute endorsement of any Pro's work or qualifications.
Pros may set a voluntary weekly lead budget in their settings. When your weekly spend reaches your budget limit, lead delivery pauses until your budget resets the following Monday. Budget settings are your responsibility; Service Scout is not liable for leads delivered before a budget is set.
Lead fee refunds may be issued at Service Scout's sole discretion in the following circumstances:
Refunds are issued as account credits (applied to future lead charges) by default. Refunds to your original payment method may be issued at our discretion for amounts over $50 or in cases of verified platform error. Refunds are not issued for: customer non-response, customer hired a different pro, or dissatisfaction with lead quality for subjective reasons.
To request a refund, contact support@servicescout.app within 7 days of the lead delivery date.
As a Service Pro, you agree to:
Pros may pause lead delivery at any time in settings. To close your Pro account, use the in-app "Delete Account" feature or contact support@servicescout.app. Account deletion removes your payment method from Stripe and stops future lead charges. Any outstanding lead charges remain due.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. By adding a payment method, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service at stripe.com/legal. You authorize Service Scout to charge your payment method for lead fees as described in Section 6.2. All fees are in US Dollars. Taxes, if applicable, are your responsibility.
You agree NOT to:
We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, without notice, at our sole discretion.
By submitting a review or other content, you grant Service Scout a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service. You represent that your content is truthful, based on genuine experience, and does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our guidelines.
The Service Scout name, logo, app, and all content and technology are owned by Service Scout and protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks, copy our software, or reproduce any part of the Service without written permission.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SERVICE SCOUT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100.00.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Service Scout from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any work performed by you as a Service Pro.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. YOU AND SERVICE SCOUT EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY AND TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS.
Exceptions: Either party may seek emergency injunctive relief in court; small claims court actions remain available.
To initiate arbitration, send written notice to support@servicescout.app. The arbitration will be conducted in Riverside County, California or via telephone/video at your election.
30-Day Opt-Out: You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@servicescout.app within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. For claims not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of state and federal courts in Riverside County, California.
You may delete your account at any time through the app (Profile → Delete Account for Customers; Settings → Delete Account for Pros) or by contacting support@servicescout.app. Upon deletion, your personal information will be anonymized as described in our Privacy Policy. Financial transaction records are retained as required by law.
We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via app notification or email. Your continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Service Scout regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
